When I first heard of Coterie, a new Beauty Flash Sale site that will debut this coming Monday, September 17, I thought to myself: Darn! There goes my business plan. It was only a matter of time till someone launched a beauty flash site. But it’s okay, they’ve got awesome stuff! Their preview event is Butter London where you get 3 shades and pick either matte finish or just a top coat. Of course I was too busy with work and school that I missed out even though I just bought 8 shades from Ulta’s Buy 1 Get 1 this past Monday.

I know that most of you are not in the design field and might have no extra money to buy the Adobe Creative Suite that professionals use. I have picked out my top online picture editors for your blogging needs.

1. Pixlr

Among the online photo editors, this one is my favorite! It gives you 3 photo editing options. Pixlr Editor is the closest thing to a desktop Photoshop. It has really nice features like layers, clone stamping and has filters. Pixlr Express is a neat way of adjusting your photos and creating collages. Pixlr-o-matic is just a quick tool to get those Instagram like effect on your photos. I would use this if you want to make banners/logos for your site.

From Beginner to Intermediate Users.

2. Photoshop.com

From Adobe itself, it’s the desktop’s child online software, Photoshop.com. It’s a nice photo editor but that’s about it. Unlike it’s mother program, it can only do minor edits and not photo manipulation which should be enough for your photos if you don’t do a lot of retouching. You can always try out the editor without signing up.

For Beginners.

3. Splashup

Is another nice online photo editor that has Photoshop like features like multi-layer and the magic lasso tool. Like the Pixlr, this is a good tool if you want to learn the basics of photo editing and creating banners/logo for your site.

For Beginners to Intermediate Users.

 So these are my top photo editors. Although I might not use them, I have explored them enough to recommend them to you. Last week, I got my August Glossybox and I loved everything that came in it! I already reviewed the Illamasqua Nail Polish and Touch in Sol Skin Base, and now I’m reviewing the Ellis Faas Creamy Lips L102. I swear, Glossybox must have e-mailed God and ask what shade to send me because I have been searching for a nice Plum lipstick! This is a very nice shade for those nights when I want to feel sophisticated(LOL). I really love the creaminess of the lipstick and unique spongy applicator. The only downside was that I had to turn the knob a lot of times before I got to the lipstick. I really thought it was empty at first!

Tip: Before applying, use lip liner unless you’re a pro.

It’s been featured in top magazines, tv shows, and beauty blogs. So what is Butter London? It’s a company founded by Leslie Freytag who developed high-end nail polishes. I love the name Butter, it reminds me of my favorite butter and toast combo (no brainer). I was very excited to see that they already released their Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection which I can’t wait to purchase at Ulta when their 21 Days Beauty Event this September. It’s buy 1 get 1 free on the 10th for Butter items so mark your calendars ladies!

Lovely Jubbly

  • Colour: A vibrant magenta flecked with red, blue and gold micro particles. Channeling a distinctly retro 70’s feel, this sultry glitter gives high impact sparkle perfect for Disco Divas.
  • Definition: Brit speak for “Excellent.” Used when a person hears pleasing news or has a stroke of good luck.

Trustafarian

  • Colour: A golden holographic finish gives this delightful sage green a surprising and sophisticated edge.
  • Definition: A spoiled rich kid who pretends to be a hippy but still goes home to Daddy’s mansion on the weekend.

Gobsmacked

  • Colour: A heavily pigmented charcoal grey glitter with a slightly textured finish. This shade is unlike anything we’ve seen before. A legend in the making!
  • Definition: To be totally speechless. Unable to think of anything to say.

Shag

  • Colour: A high-shine metallic lacquer in a warm orange-burgundy hue. Reminiscent of fallen Autumn leaves. Sigh.
  • Definition: Brit slang for “knocking boots.”

Dodgy Barnett

  • Colour: A highly holographic shade that blurs the line between grey and silver. A classic!
  • Definition: A bad hairdo. A mullet of any variety is a seriously Dodgy Barnett.

Aside from purchasing them at Butter London’s Website and Ulta, Butter London is also available at Nordstrom. Although Sephora sells Butter London, I am not sure if they will carry the Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection.

Tonight I’m reviewing Illamasqua’s Glory Nail Polish which I got from my August Glossybox along with other awesome stuff like Touch in Sol’s Feel Like Honey Skin Base. This is my first Illamasqua nail polish and I was very excited to get it in my first Glossybox. I probably wouldn’t spend $14 on a single nail polish because I love buying stuff on sale. I would most likely do a huge haul if it went on sale like some Sephora by OPI nail polishes.

On to the review, I was so happy that I got a silver nail polish because I don’t have one in stock.  I noticed that there were bubbles in the mixture but the polish was easy to mix with the ball inside. One thing I did notice upon putting is that you really have to shake the bottle well or else it won’t turn out good. It is more pigmented than Essie’s Sterling Silver which I bought today. Putting it on, I had trouble with the brush because everytime I brush my nail, the previous brushed polish won’t blend in. That’s why I have those ugly lines on my nails. I’m not sure if it’s the brush, nail polish or me but I have the same effect with Essie’s Sterling Silver. I am probably not experienced enough to put on metallic nail polishes, LOL. What I do like about it is that it dries quickly and is smooth to touch even with the lines. I would definitely use this during date nights and other events to compliment my outfit!
